The world’s most powerful president and his wife are infected with the coronavirus
U.S. President Donald Trump says he and First Lady Melania Trump have been identified as coronavirus positive and the two are now in quarantine. Mr. Trump confirmed the information in a tweet.
The 84-year-old president and 50-year-old First Lady are at risk of coronavirus.
But Mr. Trump’s physician, Shawn Conley, said in a statement that the president and the first lady “are both well at the moment, and will remain at the White House until they recover.”
The statement said, “I hope that the President will continue to carry out his duties without interruption during this period and I will keep you informed.”
The issue came to light after one of Trump’s closest associates tested positive for coronavirus.
